Smt. Meenakshi Sagar, disciple of ‘Natya Poorna' Guru Sri. J. Suryanarayana Moorthy, had her initial
training in Chennai under 'Sudarkodi' Smt. Padma and later under Kum. R.Padma. A versatile Bharathanatyam artiste, she has given numerous performances in India and abroad. Her dance is marked by extreme grace and her expressions keep the audience spellbound. She has performed at various sabhas, art festivals, temples and government sponsored programmes.
“Bharatha Kalai Selvi", Nithya Baratha Jothi" Smt. Meenakshi Sagar founded Aradhana in 1990 at the Russian Culturala Centre, Chennai to train Russian and Indian students. A teacher with outstanding ability, Meenakshi has choreographed various classical dances and dance dramas in a novel way. She is the Technical member of the Department of Education – Union Territory of Lakshadweep, for Classical Dance.
Meenakshi teaches dance at Podanur and Kalappatti to many enthusiastic disciples. She also imparts training in music and Nattuvangam. The first ever Nattuvanga Arangetram without a dance performer was staged by the students of Aradhana in 2010. Her other interests include costume designing and singing. Meenakshi is a qualified advocate too.

Nirutham is a pure dance without any emotions, expressions or sahityam.

Niruthiyam
It has emotions, expressions and has a meaning shown by the hastas. Niruthiyam invoves all four types of Abinayam.

Natyam is when a Nirutham and Niruthiyam are combined together with music in the background.
